Graduation activities for the eldest Horde member are all done (his grad party was last weekend). I checked in with my European co-workers today: no, they don’t seem to do grad parties in the UK the way we do here. Not surprising: Americans are consistently weird. I mean, the whole point of a graduation party is to get the grad to tell a bunch of parents’ friends and extended family what they’re doing now that they’re done with high school, and (ideally) receive cards with cash in exchange for cake and some sort of food. It was exhausting and wonderful and a good time was had by all, as far as I could tell. And I fell asleep like the dead by 9:30pm that night and slept 11 hours. Yay!
Now summer can start, I guess? And to kick things off, I have a signing this weekend at the 3rd Street Festival in Park Rapids, MN with Beagle and Wolf Books and Bindery. Come see me! Shop indie bookstores whenever possible, and check out the excellent docket of authors attending the festival Saturday. There’s sure to be something you like.
